Report a river emergency

To report an:

  •     algal bloom
  •     fish kill
  •     pollution or
  •     other environmental incident affecting the Swan Canning Riverpark,

contact the Department of Parks and Wildlife, Rivers and Estuaries Division on:

  •         (08) 9219 9000
  •         or after hours on the Incident Response mobile: 0419 192 845 (emergencies only)

Take note of the location, colour of the water, odour from the water, types of dead fish you can see or the possible pollution source, and call the Rivers and Estuaries Division immediately.

For your safety, do not touch discoloured water or dead fish.

Everyone has a responsibility to help care for the Swan Canning Riverpark.

Although the Department of Parks and Wildlife monitors the rivers regularly, a member of the public will often notice a problem first.
